Pan is an instrument, an ensemble and music. It was created in Trinidad during the 1940's when urban street gangs turned oil drums into tonal instruments, and orchestras. Trinidad remains the Mecca, each year attracting men and women who stake all on their art and passion to compete for the world championship of Pan. PAN! is a human adventure, showing from its genesis through re-enactment stories to its propagation all around the world.

Treacherous Heart is an inspirational love story about a young Canadian woman of African descent struggling with love, conflict and forgiveness as she faces an arranged marriage. The story sheds light on her struggles to bridge her two worlds and find love on her own terms. Treacherous Heart also highlights the issue of culture clash between immigrant parents and their first-generation Canadian children.

ANNOUNCING A NEW SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Toronto African Film and Music Festival 2014 - New Scholarship Fund
The new Scholarship fund will be awarded to those who come out and support the festival this year either at the film screenings or at the outdoor music venue.
The conditions are a member of the family must buy and attend the festival from August 27-31, 2014. You must fill out a consent form that will have your contact details.
There will be 4 scholarships awarded in the following categories: New Media, Music, Fashion, and Culinary.
Each scholarship awarded is worth $1000 Canadian and will be announced at the African Ball on Thursday September 25, 2014. Each person who wins will be notified one week before the African Ball, and will also get 2 tickets to join us at the Fairmount Royal York on September 25 2014, where they will receive the scholarship.
